3 Things About Me

  1. Personal: I'm from Jalisco, Mexico I came over when I was 17 years old. Like a lot of my co-workers, hoping to make some money and come back to Mexico. I worked as a carpenter for 2 years and I found out Construction is not just hitting a hammer. One day I decided to be an apprentice and to go to a school to learn to read blueprints. That’s when I met Jim Caruso who was on the board committee, for those that miss classes, and Jim invited me to join J&J Acoustics.
  2. Family: I have a great wife and 3 beautiful kids, my wife and kids are my life.
  3. Hobbies: My Hobby is reading the Bible with my wife and 3 kids thanks to Jehovah/God, my family has the same spiritual feeling and because of that I can say I love my job, and I can provide for what my family needs.

What I Like About Working at J & J Acoustics

Most of the workers in the union are hard workers, and J&J has been trying to keep the best of them. From the moment that I started working for the company, I appreciate all the hard work that my foreman do.

I realize that being a foreman, or being a lead man is a big responsibility. Like regular workers, I don't like to be under pressure, and for a long time, I decided to give the lead to others thinking that the company doesn’t need me, and I’m not ready.

Some of the foremen invited me to become a lead man and I can say proudly that a lot of people who started the same time as me as an apprentice, now are very good Foreman and some of them are superintendents. All this time J&J has been there for me, and I want to teach my experiences to the new workers in our trade, and do the best for my company J&J.

I also want to say thanks to Rick Wood, he always tries to encourage us to progress every time he comes to our projects. He would ask "Are you ready to be a lead?" which is a good invitation to become a responsible person that makes you feel important, and because of that and all the good comments, he makes in the emails.

You guys make a good team, and thanks for letting me be a part of a great company.
