Meet the Casillas Family
Built on family, unity, mutual support, and respect, the Casillas brothers personify what J&J Acoustics is all about. At J&J, family isn’t just something we talk about – it’s how we work and succeed together. This month, we’re excited to introduce Victor and Raul Casillas, two brothers with a combined 34 years of experience at J&J (17 years each!). They come from a long line of builders, and their story shows what happens when dedication, trust, and a little brotherly humor all come together on the jobsite.
Victor Casillas – The Legacy Builder
Victor takes immense pride in coming from a multigenerational construction family. Building is in his blood, and he’s honored to carry on the family legacy here at J&J. Over 17 years with the company, Victor has lent his expertise to some of our biggest projects – including Anderson Arts, the East County Courthouse, and Gateway Phase 2, and he’s proud to have his family’s name associated with these accomplishments. He loves sharing his skills and knowledge with others, often planning out work with his brother Raul and mentoring newer crew members.
On any given day, you might find Victor and Raul huddled over plans, trading ideas like they did when they were kids helping their dad. Outside of work, Victor is a family man to the core – in fact, he’s raising seven kids of his own (yes, seven!). He has a passion for off-roading and often takes the whole family on adventurous trips to Mexico. (We suspect managing a crew of seven at home makes coordinating a construction team feel like a breeze!) Through it all, Victor remains humble and supportive. His advice to other families working together echoes his supportive philosophy: “The advice I would give to other families is to always put up with each other and help each other, especially during difficult times.”
Raul Casillas – The Life of the Jobsite
Walk onto a J&J jobsite and if you hear laughter echoing across the room, chances are Raul is at the center of it. Raul is known for being loud, funny, and full of energy – the kind of person who can make even a tough workday more fun. Like his brother, Raul has dedicated 17 years to J&J Acoustics and honed his craft through hard work and family tradition. He brings positivity to every project, keeping morale high with his jokes and booming voice. Coworkers sometimes joke that the jobsite is never quiet when Raul’s around (and nobody minds one bit!). “Having fun is part of getting the job done,” Raul says with a grin, and his enthusiasm is truly contagious.
Of course, working with your brother can come with a bit of friendly friction. Raul acknowledges that he and Victor have different work styles – like any siblings, they don’t always agree on everything. In fact, their animated discussions on the job can sound like a sibling squabble to outsiders. But Raul is quick to set the record straight: “Even though it may seem like we’re angry with each other, at the end of the day we’re brothers and we love and respect each other.” He emphasizes that any differences in approach are just opportunities to learn from one another. No matter what, the Casillas brothers always find a way to support each other and get the job done right. That mutual support is what Raul values most about working side by side with Victor. (It also helps that Raul can trust his brother to laugh at his jokes – even the bad ones!)
Raul’s perspective on family at work is simple: having someone who always has your back makes all the difference. Whether they’re coordinating a complex framing plan or double-checking each other’s work, Victor and Raul are a true team. And when the workday is over, they’re still brothers – often headed out together or with their families to enjoy a bit of that off-road adventure or a backyard BBQ. Raul, like Victor, loves the outdoors and spends weekends camping, hiking, and off-roading with his family. He’ll tell you that those adventures recharge him for the week and remind him how important it is to help each other – on the trails and on the job.

We are incredibly grateful to Victor and Raul Casillas for their unwavering commitment, good humor, and hard work.
